Safety
If you want to go for a walk it is good to tell somebody where you are going and better take somebody with you. If you are using the public transportation (buses, mini-van) pay much attention to your bag and your pocket. It is wise not to carry a lot of money with you or dollars (euro).

 It is available from every internet café-there are lots in town for a price between 10 000- 30000 lei for 1 hour (1 Sek=4.000 lei, 1 Euro= 36 000 lei, I USD= 29 000 lei).

Telephone
You can call All over the world from every card phone on the street if you have a card (a card cost is 50 000 lei, 80 000 lei, or 150 000 lei)

Shower
 There are showers on the camping site with hot water.

Transportation
For personal use you may take the bus, minivan or taxi. The prices are: 15000 lei for one trip for the bus (you may buy a two ways ticket for30 000 lei) 20 000 lei for mini van—they stop anywhere you want and let you off when you say-STOP HERE!
All of them go to the center and you may use number 23 to go from the camping to the center where you can visit different touristy sites like; Planetarium, aquarium, the Harbor, The Mall, museums, restaurants etc. Taxi- the prices are around 15000 lei /km- It is good to ask them how much it will cost for your trip before taking a taxi. All the prices are negotiable. Or be sure they use the meter (counter).
Some of the taxi drivers have not use to go to church to much and they will try to make some more money from you because you are a foreigner but … do not pay more than 50 000- 150000 lei for the longest trip. The cheapest company is ROMARIS phone number. 690 000.

Food
 Very good food…. On the camping site: 2 Euro/ meal-3 meals/ 6 Euro/ day with GREAT Romanian food!!! Moment Café on the festival site offer: hamburgers, waffles, hot-dogs, French fries, etc Mc Donald’s- you can find in the center, in the Mamaia Resort and on the Mamaia Boulevard Prices are- 103 000 lei for a Big Mac Menu! I like it! Pizza Hut- right in the center-a 4 person pizza Carbonara cost 309 000 lei! GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!

Restaurants
For 200000-300 000 lei you can get a very good and nice dinner in almost every nice restaurant. The best are; El Greco-tell 0722 414 010, STR Decebal nr. 18 Shift Pub-all the animal’s meat! Colonadelor and many more…….. In these nice restaurants it is good to have an appropriate dress. No swimming suits….

Church
In Romania the church is very traditional Farul church is more open but you still has to come well dressed---no mini! No smoking and drinking-it is considered a big sin. So no beer if you are used to have one in your country, here is not common for Christians. People are very friendly. If you learn two words in Romanian and say those to somebody you make a friend!

Exchange rate
You can bring Sweden Kroner, Pounds, Norwegian Kroner, US Dollars, Euro etc, all can be exchanged for LEI (Romanian money) at any bank or exchange house.
Pay attention to some of the Exchange houses they will take a commission at your transaction so look for those that show 0% Commission.
1Sek= 4 000 lei 1 Nok= 4 500 lei 1 euro= 37 000 lei 1$=28 400 lei.
The best thing to bring is euro or USD. It is very important to look when you exchange money if the Comission is 0.
 
There are 2-3 places in town where they have big signs outside that says it has a big exchange rate but those use a 8% commission…you do not want to use those places. Be careful.
You also can take out money from bank machine (VISA, Master Card, Maestro, Express etc) I would say this is the best to do. There are plenty in town.
